Serves: 1–2

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: Approximately 30 minutes

Appliance: Instant Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bacon
  • 250 ml milk
  • 75 g macaroni (uncooked)
  • 80 g cheddar cheese (grated)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ clove garlic, finely chopped
  • Large pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp corn flour
  • 2 tbsp milk (extra for thickening)

Preparation Method

  • Select Bake on your air fryer, set the temperature to 191°C, and the time to 4 minutes. Press Start.
  • When prompted to Add Food, place the bacon in the basket and bake until crispy. Once done, chop into small pieces.
  • In an oven-safe dish that fits your air fryer, add the milk, uncooked macaroni, most of the cheese (reserve a little for later), Dijon mustard, bacon, garlic, and a large pinch of salt.
  • Stir everything together, cover the dish tightly with foil, and place it inside the air fryer basket.
  • Select Air Fry, set temperature to 188°C, time to 20 minutes, and press Start. (Ignore the “Add Food” prompt — your dish is already inside.)
  • Once cooking is done, remove the dish and take off the foil.
  • Mix the corn flour with 2 tbsp milk to make a slurry. Stir this into the macaroni to thicken the sauce.
  • Top the dish with the remaining cheese. Select Air Fry or Grill, and cook for an additional 5–8 minutes, until golden and bubbling.
  • Serve hot and enjoy the ultimate air fryer mac and cheese!
