S’mores Apple Crumble

Ingredients

  • 3 Granny Smith apples
  • 1½ tsp mixed spice
  • 125 g plain flour
  • 70 g unsalted butter, chopped
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 30 g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 9 marshmallows
  • Double cream or custard, for serving

 

Instructions

Prepare the Apples:

  • Peel, core, and roughly chop the apples.
  • In a bowl, mix them with ½ tsp mixed spice and 1 tbsp sugar.
  • Divide the apples evenly into the ovenproof dishes and cover with foil.

First Cook:

  • Select Air Fry at 188°C for 15 minutes.
  • Place the covered dishes inside and start cooking. Ignore the prompt to add food.

Make the Crumble:

  • In a bowl, sift the flour and add butter, remaining sugar, 1 tsp mixed spice, and a pinch of salt.
  • Rub the mixture with your fingertips until it forms clumps and resembles a chunky, sandy texture.

Assemble the Crumble:

  • Once the apples are softened, stir in the chopped chocolate and marshmallows.
  • Evenly sprinkle the crumble mixture over the apples.

Final Bake:

  • Return the dishes to the air fryer, uncovered.
  • Select Bake at 188°C for 7 minutes, until the topping is golden and crisp.

Serve & Enjoy:

  • Serve warm with double cream or custard.
